About the Ride Up Britain |
The ride up Britain is an invitational charity cycling event organised by Hydro International in support of WaterAid.
The ride will set off from Lands End at 12:00pm on 15th May 2008
The format of the ride is to complete the 907 mile set route, from Lands End to John O’Groats, without stopping, by riding as a team in a relay. The team can consist of 4-6 riders with one or more riding at a time.
The team will have a support vehicle accompanying them that will carry the riders who are not on the road and their bikes as well as spares and supplies. The support vehicle will follow immediately behind the rider(s) from dusk until dawn but can be elsewhere on the route during daylight hours.
There are no discreet stages or distances to be covered each day, it is a continuous ride. Teams frequently report to the organisers so that their progress can be monitored and any problems reported.
It promises to be a unique and exciting challenge for each team!
